Halloween 2009

Happy Halloween!
We had a fun night last night! The weather was pleasant and the kids loved getting dressed up and getting candy! Ashley caught on after a while. Instead of being the last one to the door, she started running in front of the others, leaving them behind. Smart girl! It was very cute to watch her little curls bouncing up and down, and her little legs moving so fast. Too cute!

Ashley

Emily wanted to be a fairy, so that's what we made Ashley too. I figure it's easier to make two of one costume than everyone different!

Emily

My two pretty fairies!

As you can see, we had two Jawa's too.

Jared

Jacob

Jacob likes Star Wars and wanted to be a Jawa, and of course Jared wanted to be the same! It made it easier for me! When it was dark out, their eyes lit up. When they walked past the kids trick-or-treating there were lots of comments, "look at those cool eyes!".

Very fun!!

Jared's 4th Birthday!

Well, I made my first cake with fondant, for Jared's birthday. He wanted a Thomas the Train cake so I had to get creative. It turned out pretty good, thank goodness, because it took 6 1/2 hours!

After all that work, it was hard to think that a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds were going to eat my masterpiece! It was worth it though!

Jared, while he was getting sung to.

Opening presents.

Knitting Loom

Today, I taught Emily (8) and Jacob (6) how to use the knitting loom. They did a super job and spent all day completing their projects. Emily did hers all by herself. I helped Jacob because he wanted to take a lot of breaks. They caught on fast and did great!

Emily made the hat for Ashley, and Jacob was very proud to wear his hat!
(Ashley fell on something and cut her cheek, that's the reason for the band-aid)

Of course, Jared wanted to wear the special hat too!

Another Photo Shoot

I had to take pictures of the older kids too! I took these today on the Big Horns on the way over to Sheridan.

My kids are such good sports! Love 'em!

Kids Photo Shoot

Today Emily and Jacob are getting their school pictures taken, so I thought I'd take pictures of the two little ones out in the yard--let them have their own photo shoot.

They turned out pretty darn cute!!

Two Wheeler

Jared learned how to ride his bike without training wheels this summer (age 3)!

We went out for a walk the other morning and I had to take some pictures of him.

He did a great job!

Ashley went along for the ride.

When we got back we let our bunny out in our fenced yard to run around a little. It came over to see what Ashley had in her hand.

Ashley gets so excited when she pets the bunny!

Sweet Rewards

After school one day, the kids picked the some veggies from the garden. I had them help me shuck the corn and they did great, even little Ashley! It's been fun having a little garden this year!

We planted two pumpkin plants and got three pumpkins to grow. It's exciting, we've never grown them before!

I'm learning to can this year and am loving it! Here are some peaches I did, some yummy raspberry freezer jam, and frozen squash and corn from our garden. It's very rewarding!

2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifier

We attended the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifier in Salt Lake City
USA vs. El Salvador

The stadium was beautiful!

When we first got there, the majority of fans were for El Salvador. It was a sea of blue and white! It was like being in a different country, seriously! They all spoke Spanish, were playing drums, singing, and dancing around having a great ol' time!

The USA fans poured in after a while. Everyone was friendly though, and would tease each other back and forth about the other team. It was a fun environment and experience!

Believe it or not, it was exciting to watch!

USA won!
It was a great night!
(We also took our nephew Taylor, since he's a big soccer fan too, like Ryan)

After the game, when we were in line getting out, we listened to the last of the BYU vs. Oklahoma football game, and were happy to here BYU won! Wow, what a night! Ryan couldn't have been happier!

Trip to Utah

Last week Ryan surprised me by asking if we wanted to go to Utah. I didn't care for what reason, he knows he doesn't have to ask me twice! He wanted to go to a soccer game that coming Saturday in Salt Lake City.

The kids were excited to go! Jacob made a calendar so he could count down the days, and he made an agenda for when he got there he knew what he was going to do.

The kids always have a great time at their Mama's house! Jumping on the trampoline was #4 on the list...Check!

Ashley liked playing with the "Moo" and "Pig" toys!

She also liked pulling the teddy bear in the wagon. She sat in it for so long, and since no one was pulling her, she decided to pull the bear instead!

Emily spent a lot of time up in her "cabin". She was proud of her centerpiece that she made out of plums and leaves off the tree.

Ashley has such long hair and when it's down it always gets in her eyes, so one night Aunt Malena put a clip in it.--Too cute!

School Started!

Well, school started this week! The kids are attending school in Lovell this year and they are excited!

Jacob is in Mrs. Geiser's class and was able to start school on the first day. He did great, and started making friends right away!

Emily is in Mrs. May's class. She was sick for the first couple days, and was SO excited when she could finally go for the first time! As soon as she arrived her friends took her under their wings and showed her the ropes. She loves it!

Just Another Night

Emily's BIG baby! She put Ashley in the doll cradle and it cracked me up seeing her legs hanging out! Ashley sure didn't mind, she was actually loving being treated like Emily's baby. She even got a bottle!

I got the boys some under shirts and they thought they were pretty neat! They kept running around in their underwear, wrestling with each other, and showing off their muscles. They make me laugh too!
