Birthday Flight

When Emily was one year old, we flew to Ohio to visit my family. She obviously doesn't remember that and always says how she's never flown in an airplane and wants to. Well, for her birthday her Dad made it possible.

Our friend, Todd Simmons, works for Choice Aviation at the Cody Airport. They offer a great deal on a "Discovery Flight", and we were lucky to have him as the pilot.

For the Discovery Flight, either two adults can go or one adult with two children. So, Ryan was able to take Jacob along for the birthday ride too.

Todd was great with the kids! He took them around the plane to check to make sure it was ready for flight. Then he asked if they wanted to help him pull (push) the plane out of the hangar.

Here is the crew before take off.

Emily was able to sit in the pilot's seat during the flight.

And was able to take the wheel and fly for a little while too!

Here are some great views they got to see around the Cody, Wyoming area.

That was a great birthday gift for Emily, she loved it!
Ryan, thanks for being a great dad!
(And thanks to Todd for a great, SAFE flight!)

What a fun, fun thing to be able to do! Emily is SO lucky to have both of you for parents. (As well as Jacob, Jared and Ashley too.) What a memorable birthday for her.
